International Cooperation of the NIK in 2011

For many years, the NIK has been actively participating in initiatives undertaken in the international arena, and the year 2011 was also very busy. The NIK finished its three-year long Presidency of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions – EUROSAI, and its main accomplishment was the EUROSAI Strategic Plan – the first strategic document in the history of the organisation. More information on the NIK’s international cooperation over the last year is presented by Aleksandra Kukuła, Head of the NIK International Relations Unit.

The required level of safety was not guaranteed for the most important state officials who flew onboard Polish Armed Forces’ planes in the years 2005-2010.
UN Resolution on the Independence of Supreme Audit Institutions

The United Nations recognises the importance of the independence of supreme audit institutions and appreciates INTOSAI for promoting transparency of public finances. At the end of December 2011, the UN adopted a resolution that crowned the efforts of INTOSAI aimed to strengthen the independence of supreme audit institutions.
