The NIK has been a member of INTOSAI since 1959 and actively participates in the activities of the following INTOSAI Working Groups:

• Sub-Commmittee 3: Promote best practices and quality assurance through voluntary peer reviews
• Working Group on Privatisation, Economic Regulation and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP)
  The NIK organized one of the Group's meeting in Warsaw in 1999 dedicated to the development of auditing methodology for new phenomena in privatization in the public sector such as licensing and market regulation. The NIK is engaged in works on case study on financial services sector regulation.
• Working Group on Environmental Auditing
  The NIK was an ardent advocate of regionalization of the Group's activities. Polish and Dutch efforts in this respect resulted in that since 1998 regional counterparts of the Group have started to be established on every continent. The NIK chaired the European counterpart of the Group till June 2009 and presently is a member of the Steering Committees of the European and INTOSAI WG on Environmental Auditing.

• Task Force on Global Financial Crisis
