The NIK also promises to promote pro-environmental attitudes amongst its employees and to constantly improve its efforts as regards environmental friendliness.

President of the NIK Jacek Jezierski, on behalf of the NIK employees and management, has committed himself to take responsibility for the implementation of environmental policy, including provision of necessary resources.

In July 2011, Germanischer Lloyd Polen confirmed that the environmental management system established and maintained at the NIK fulfills the requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 standard. This was proved with the ISO 14001:2004 certificate granted to the NIK, valid until 17 July 2014.
