The Supreme Audit Office is composed of 14 audit departments, each dealing with auditing of a different area of the state activity, and 4 administrative departments, which provide internal services for the NIK. These units are located in the NIK Central Office in Warsaw. Apart from that, there are 16 regional branches of the NIK, one in each administrative region of Poland, all being directly involved in auditing.
