NIK President expressed condolences after the tragic events in India

The President of NIK, Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, conveyed condolences to the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Rajiv Mehrishi, with regard to the tragic events in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Severe dust storms across northern states of India have killed more than hundred people.

- I would like to express my deepest sympathy with all those that lost their loved ones and I wish a speedy recovery to all who have been injured. I also hope that the tragic events did neither directly hit any employee of SAI of India nor members of their families - Krzysztof Kwiatkowski addressed Rajiv Mehrishi, Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

The Supreme Audit Office of Poland and the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India have closely cooperated for years. In line with the concluded agreement, which was renewed in 2015, both SAIs organise bilateral seminars. The most recently held meeting concerned the audit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Another seminar will take place in Poland this autumn. NIK and SAI of India also cooperate within the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions INTOSAI. NIK is a Governing Board Member of both EUROSAI (Vice-President) and INTOSAI (represents Europe), and chairs the EUROSAI IT Working Group. SAI of India is also a Member of the INTOSAI Governing Board and heads the activity of the INTOSAI Working Group on IT Audit.
