Air protection in Poland

Air pollution is an important determinant of the quality and length of life. More and more research indicates that air pollution is the largest contributor to the burden of disease from the environment, which causes particularly cancers, cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and respiratory diseases. Despite significant reduction of air pollution over the past decades (mainly as a result of introducing restrictive requirements in the industry sector), the air quality in Poland is still far from standards adopted by the European Union.
