Sylweriusz Królak is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and holds a PhD in Law, specialising in constitutional law, European law and human rights. He completed postgraduate studies at the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) and is a member of the Warsaw Bar Association.
He has held numerous public offices, including Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Justice, where he was responsible for EU accession negotiations and the implementation of Poland’s judicial commitments. Furthermore, he also served as the General Rapporteur of the Government of the Republic of Poland before the UN Human Rights Committee in Geneva, an expert of the Sejm Justice and Human Rights Committee, and a member of the State Tribunal (2005–2015).
He is the author of several books, academic articles and papers presented at international conferences focusing on human rights, European law, and the Polish judicial system.
On 24 February 2024, the Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland appointed Mr Sylweriusz Królak as a Member of the Council of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland (NIK).
