EUROSAI on training and development of its members

For eleven years, ETC has been organising, coordinating and co-financing seminars and training events. Each European SAI is regularly interviewed in a questionnaire on its training needs and priorities. On the basis of such questionnaires, ETC identifies fields in which training is provided. In 2010, ETC co-organised, among others, four big training events: on sustainable energy auditing, on Common Agricultural Policy, on VAT and on IT solutions supporting efforts to limit the grey area.

The meeting in Madrid was also an opportunity to share experience related to searching new ways of training, such as strengthening collaboration with universities. A lot of time was dedicated to activities aimed at institutional capacity building of individual members of EUROSAI and of EUROSAI itself. In the framework of these activities, cooperation is being continued with the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions INTOSAI, its regional groups, the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) and the European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing (ICIIA). At the meeting, the NIK presented the report on the progress of works related to EUROSAI Strategic Plan for the years 2011-2017.

The meeting in Madrid was the last meeting of ETC in its present shape. Once the 8th EUROSAI Congress has adopted the new Strategic Plan, ETC will be dissolved and its tasks will be distributed among the teams responsible for the implementation of individual EUROSAI strategic goals.
