How is mathematics used at NIK? What is the "Auditor Assistant" programme? Wiesław Karliński from NIK Department of Audit Methodology and Professional Development, the application author, has told us about that original IT tool, supporting inspectors in each audit.

Thanks to the use of mathematical methods, the NIK audit results become more objective. The “Auditor Assistant” supports inspectors in sampling by means of statistical methods. It also helps them import the data, analyse them for auditing purposes and automate reviews of accounting books.

Auditors from Denmark and Czech Republic have shown their interest in the application already. NIK is eager to provide access to its programme to any national public institution looking for mathematical and statistical support, such as a universal IT tool.
