The Supreme Audit Office negatively evaluates the state supervision over the fur factory farms in Wielkopolskie Province from 2009 to 2010, mainly due to its ineffectiveness. The Veterinary Inspectorates did not fully discharge their duties defined by the Chief Veterinary Officer in terms of supervision over the fur factory farms. The oversight was ineffective as it did not eliminate irregularities in the entities’ functioning. Controls performed by the Inspectorate for Environmental Protection did not make sure that the farms complied with the environment protection requirements.
