The Act on the Supreme Audit Office (Art.12 Item 3) enables NIK to order audits to the authorities being part of the government administration. NIK has defined the audit subject. The governors will conduct it in line with the procedures effective in their inspection services.
Each governor exercises supervision over traffic management on the province-, district -and commune roads. NIK has used that governor’s right to initiate a Poland-wide audit.
The audit aims at evaluating the signing of public roads in Poland.
