NIK will check if women and men get equal pay for equal work

The Constitution of the Republic of Poland guarantees the right to equal pay for equal work to women and men. This principle is set out in detail by Article 18 of the Labour Code. However, in Poland there is no system of obligatory monitoring of pay levels for women and men. At the same time, the statistical research made by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) in 2010 show that the differences between pays of men and women performing comparable work reach 18 percent.
