Representatives of top Mongolian authorities at the NIK

The employees of the NIK presented their Mongolian colleagues with the state budget auditing process, including its specific nature and the entities involved. The state budget execution audit is the most important and the most comprehensive audit the NIK carries out every year. In this audit, the NIK verifies the performance of some 400 institutions and offices.

During their stay in Poland, the Mongolian delegates also visited the Ministry of Finance, the Office of the City of Warsaw and the office of regional authorities. All those meetings were dedicated to public finance planning, construction and management, both at the national and local levels.

The visit of the Mongolian delegation was closely related to the reform of public finances to be introduced in Mongolia. The main objective of the study visits to Polish institutions was to get acquainted with good practices in the field.

The collaboration between the NIK and the Mongolian Audit Office dates back to 1998. In 2004, the two institutions signed a cooperation agreement in which they committed to collaborate with regard to working methods and to exchange opinions and professional experience in the field of public finance auditing.
