Works on EUROSAI Strategic Plan in progress

The decision to elaborate a new strategy of EUROSAI was taken at the 7th EUROSAI Congress (Krakow, June 2008) and it has become one of the priorities of the Polish Presidency. ‘It would be easier for us to identify and realise both short-term and long-term goals if we had a clear vision and mission of our Organisation,’ said President of the NIK Jacek Jezierski at the Congress. The new strategy is aimed at updating the goals of EUROSAI that were set 20 years ago and to make them compliant with those of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).

During its fourth meeting, the Task Force, chaired by the NIK, analysed and discussed the comments to the Strategic Plan presented by Governing Board members and observers, and on this basis introduced changes to the document. On the second day of the meeting, Task Force members developed a new organisational structure of EUROSAI which is to provide for effective implementation of the activities/projects within individual Strategic Goals. The amended Strategic Plan and new EUROSAI organisational structure have been sent to the Governing Board members and observers for further consultations.

The next meeting of the Task Force is planned for the beginning of September 2010 when the final version of the Plan will be discussed to be later sent to all EUROSAI members for comments and opinions. The final draft of the document will be approved by the Governing Board at the end of 2010 or at the beginning of 2011 and translated into five official languages of EUROSAI. The new strategy will be officially adopted by the EUROSAI Congress in Lisbon in 2011.
