Head of Slovak SAI visited Warsaw

The visit of the Slovak SAI Head started with a meeting with NIK President Krzysztof Kwiatkowski. The conversation of both SAI Heads was a great opportunity to sum up their long-term cooperation to date. Recently they have conducted cooperative audits on safety in the mountains and cross-border cooperation programmes. Both institutions have also been involved in the initiative supporting European aspirations of the SAIs of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.

President Mitrik’s visit to Poland is helped him get more familiar with the organisational structure and the functioning of NIK. The Head of the SAI of the Slovak Republic participated among others in a presentation and a debate on NIK’s audit planning, selection of auditees, cooperation with law enforcement bodies and communication of audit results.

During the visit, President Mitrik and President Kwiatkowski laid flowers at the monument of Lieutenant Miroslav Iringh, commander of a Slovak unit serving under the command of the Polish Home Army, fighting in Warsaw at the time of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944.
