The 4 June Association cooperates with Ukrainians who take efforts aiming at democratic reforms. The key partner of the Association is a Ukrainian NGO called Information Centre ”Maidan Monitoring”. Its goals include among others support and defence of constitutional rights and freedoms in Ukraine, development of the civil society and promotion of citizens’ involvement in ruling the state.
Representatives of both organisations met in the NIK headquarters with NIK President Krzysztof Kwiatkowski. Trilateral Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the meeting. The Information Centre ”Maidan Monitoring” was represented by its Chair Nataliya Zubar. Mirosław Kopik signed the agreement on behalf of the 4 June Association. The meeting was also attended by Zbigniew Bujak, veteran of fight for free and civil Poland and one of the founders of the 4 June Association.
NIK is ready to organise training programmes in Poland for ”Maidan Monitoring”, concerning e.g. the public finance auditing (including the EU funds), transparent legislative works and methods of effective communication with the society and the media. Krzysztof Kwiatkowski underlined that it was the first agreement of that kind signed by NIK.
NIK President also presented other projects of NIK’s cooperation with the public administration of Ukraine. Above all, NIK has a long history of active and fruitful cooperation with its Ukrainian counterpart, the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine. NIK experts cooperate also with the Ukrainian Chancellery of the President of the Council of Ministers, participate in the preparation of local government reforms and the new Civil Service Act. The Polish SAI also will host a group of the best graduates of the Ukrainian National Academy of Public Administration.
