The President of NIK Krzysztof Kwiatkowski placed special emphasis on the need to strengthen cooperation with the Parliament in terms of planning audit results and implementing proposals to change the law (de lege ferenda). The SAI Head also mentioned two very important issues to be covered by NIK audit in 2014: preparations to obtain the EU funds in the new budget perspective and the pro-family policy.
Coverage of the session of the Parliamentary Committee on State Auditing at NIK
The Sejm Members were interested in how NIK has used signals from individual Sejm Committees in developing the audit plan. The Supreme Audit Office included most of 27 issues proposed by the Sejm Members in NIK’s audit plan for 2014.
NIK Vice-President, Wojciech Misiąg presented assumptions related to changes in the budget audit enabling a better use of NIK resources. The Sejm Members expressed their recognition of the auditors’ work and underlined the significance of NIK audits in the state recovery process.
