On 27 November 2019, Speaker of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek, handed letters of appointment to the new Vice-Presidents of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland: Tadeusz Dziuba and Marek Opioła.
A relevant request was submitted to the Speaker of the Sejm by the President of NIK, Marian Banaś.
In line with Article 21, item 1 of the Supreme Audit Office Act, vice-presidents of the Office are appointed and dismissed by the Speaker of the Sejm, after consultation with the relevant Sejm committee, upon request of the NIK President.
The request, compliant with the Standing Orders of the Sejm, was submitted to the State Audit Committee of the Sejm, and was approved on 27 November.

Vice-President of NIK Tadeusz Dziuba is a former MP and governor of the Greater Poland Province (2005-2007). He performed the function of the deputy director of the NIK Regional Branch in Poznań, Department of Education, Science and Knowledge and again of the NIK Regional Branch in Poznań – in 1993-2000, 2000-2001 and 2001-2005 respectively. He is also the author of various articles published in the ‘State Audit” magazine.
Vice-President of NIK Marek Opioła graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Sciences at the University of Warsaw. He has extensive parliamentary experience, as an MP of the V, VI, VII, VIII and IX term. He was, among others, chairman of the Intelligence Services Committee, vice-chairman of the National Defence Committee and vice-chairman of the Rules and Deputies’ Affairs Committee.
