The EUROSAI Congress is the top managing authority of the Organisation, which assembles every three years. The most significant decisions are discussed and approved by the Congress. This year EUROSAI will adopt its new Strategic Plan aimed to improve the functioning of the Organisation, as well as set key goals for the next six years.
The first Strategic Plan of EUROSAI was adopted in 2011, when NIK chaired the Organisation. The Supreme Audit Office of Poland would also like to be actively involved in the implementation of the next plan. NIK has conducted the highest number of cooperative audits in EUROSAI - almost 60. . In Istanbul NIK will also present the activity of the EUROSAI IT Working Group, which has been chaired by NIK for three years. Representatives of NIK will discuss the CUBE project and the implementation of innovative technologies in auditing as well will take part in a workshop on innovative audit technologies.
Moreover, NIK experts will lead a workshop related to the education and trainings on ethics. NIK will also moderate a session concerning the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including good governance and fight with corruption.
Two EUROSAI Board meetings will take place at the Congress. NIK will participate in the discussions as an INTOSAI observer. Two new Board members will be elected for 2017-23. NIK will also present the objectives of the air quality audit, which is currently being conducted in Europe.
