NIK President stressed that Supreme Audit Institutions have a very important task to perform in democratic states, because their build the society’s trust towards public institutions by means of a credible assessment of their activities. At the same time they enhance citizens’ ability to enforce tasks and obligations from the authorities, contributing to better and more efficient programmes and services provided by the state.

SAIs have to face three challenges related to a dynamically changing reality, in order to perform their tasks. First of all - communication with the society, government and auditees, the more effective the more based on a dialogue. Secondly, management of information in a world, in which we are constantly provided with a stream of data, and the possible development of digital technology as well as its consequences are difficult to predict. And finally, international and domestic cooperation of SAIs. The power of audit - said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski in Bratislava - is constituted by join action.
