NIK on protecting Odra River against contamination

Over PLN 1 billion per year is spent on purifying the Odra River and protecting its waters against contamination. The results can already be seen: all towns and cities in the Odra River basin have the water sewage plants. Besides, the amount of untreated sewage poured into the Odra River is falling noticeably. NIK has confirmed that the money earmarked for this purpose is spent in compliance with the law but it points to the slow rate of improvement: only 21 percent of the rivers and 3 percent of the lakes are in good condition.
