The President of NIK signed the declaration being part of the social campaign of the Children’s Commissioner. This is a call for reaction to any signs of neglecting, abusing or battering children. ”Our reaction may save a child’s health or even life” - argues Marek Michalak, Commissioner for Children’s Rights.
The document also encourages people to be more alert and sensitive to child abuse, underscoring that the youngest need responsible care and wise bringing-up.
”It is the duty of us all to make sure children have a safe and happy childhood. This social campaign is to motivate the society to react more decisively to child abuse. I am positive that in that way we may considerably reduce the count of child abuse cases” - said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski.
The research conducted in 2012 by TNS OBOP at the request of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights show that one third of respondents believe they should not interfere when parents abuse their children.
The declaration of the social campaign of the Children’s Commissioner called ”React. You’ve got the right” has been signed by many people from the world of culture, sport and media but also politics.
