Mr Kwiatkowski is currently attending the 9th EUROSAI Congress in The Hague. The theme of the Congress is ”Innovation”.
At the Congress NIK is taking over from the Swiss Federal Audit Office the chairmanship of the EUROSAI IT Working Group. NIK has been a member of that Group since the beginning (2002) and recently has coordinated the work of its subgroup developing the online analytical database of IT audit reports (www.egov.nik.gov.pl).
A NIK representative will moderate a workshop dedicated to ethics management in SAIs. The issue of ethics has been of NIK’s interest for many years and since 2013 NIK has coordinated the work of the INTOSAI task force reviewing the ISSAI 30 ”Code of Ethics” where it has collaborated with the SAIs of Indonesia, Portugal, the UK and the USA. NIK is also a member of the EUROSAI Task Force for Audit & Ethics, chaired by the Tribunal de Contas of Portugal.
NIK has been a member of EUROSAI since the beginning (1990).The 7th EUROSAI Congress was held in Kraków in 2008 and in the years 2008-2011 NIK chaired the EUROSAI Governing Board. It was a member of the Governing Board in the years 1993-1999 and then again from 2005 to 2014. In the period 2002-2008, it chaired the EUROSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing. Currently it is an observer of the Governing Boards (as a member of the INTOSAI Governing Board).
