Number 112 not responding? [comment on the report]

The Supreme Audit Office in the report on crisis situations analysed the functioning of the number 112. NIK has significant doubts if the present concept of the emergency connection is a good one.

The emergency notification centres have not taken the dispatcher’s function. They act only as telephone centres. The people working there are operators who take calls and pass them on to proper services. ”They cannot manage a rescue action, though, or dispatch available forces, although that was the fundament of that concept” - explains Marek Bieńkowski, Director of the Department of Public Order and Internal Security of NIK.
