Mr Kwiatkowski thanked Mr Hadi Poernomo for entrusting NIK with that responsible task and hoped that the peer review report prove useful and inspiring for the BPK. He also stressed that in his opinion that peer reviews are currently more and more often used by SAIs all over the world as a source of objective opinion on their functioning. NIK itself has been subject to peer reviews three times already, most recently in 2012 when its activity was reviewed by a team of experts from the SAIs of Denmark (coordinator), Austria, Lithuania and the Netherlands. Apart from that, NIK experts have also participated in peer reviews carried out in the SAIs of Denmark and Slovakia in recent years.
NIK also takes active part in the works of the INTOSAI Subcommittee to promote the best practices and quality assurance through voluntary Peer Review.
The peer review of the BPK Indonesia was carried out by a NIK team of 4 experts from November 2013 to April 2014.
