Mr Kwiatkowski has offered to share with the Ukrainian SAI NIK’s experience that could be helpful for the Ukrainian administration in adopting the procedures and standards applied in the European Union. A bilateral seminar on that topic in NIK’s training centre near Warsaw is considered and will be discussed in detail in the near future.
NIK and the Ukrainian SAI have cooperated closely for years, bilaterally and within SAIs’ international organisations INTOSAI and EUROSAI.
At present, NIK and the Ukrainian Accounting Chamber cooperate particularly intensely within the EUROSAI Task Force on the Audit of Funds Allocated to Disasters and Catastrophes, headed by the Ukrainian SAI since 2008 when the Task Force was established at the 7th EUROSAI Congress in Cracow. NIK has been part of the international parallel audit coordinated by the SAI of Ukraine, dedicated to the use of public funds for the protection against natural disasters. The next meeting of the Task Force is planned in the months to come in Lvov. Mr Kwiatkowski has declared further active participation in the Task Force’s works of NIK experts and NIK’s continued support for the Ukrainian SAI in that respect.
Mr Kwiatkowski and Mr Maguta have also agreed to continue further exchange of knowledge and experience in other areas of both SAIs’ mutual interests.
Next week, NIK Vice-President Mr Wojciech Kutyła is going to meet Mr Roman Maguta in Kyiv when he pays a visit to the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.
