Polish-Belarusian projects concerning tourism and finances discussed in Grodno

Representatives of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland and the State Control Committee of Belarus met during an international seminar in Grodno. Significant issues concerning i.a. ecological and tourism projects - the future of Augustowski Channel and Białowieża Forest - were discussed, as well as the cooperation related to the monitoring of the development of cross-border areas and further experience exchange in the scope of financial audit.

The economic cooperation between Poland and Grodno Region is still being developed. There are over 90 organisations and companies in the Grodno Region with the Polish capital. Therefore, a constant experience exchange and further, close cooperation is needed.

During the seminar NIK was represented by the Vice-President, Wojciech Kutyła, the Director General, Andrzej Styczeń and the management of Regional Branches in Białystok and Lublin.

The Belarusian representatives were: the First Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee, Ivan Romanovich, the management of the regional State Control Committees, as well as the employees of the State Control Committee of the Grodno Region and the Department of Financial Prosecution of the Grodno Region.

The visit of NIK representatives to Belarus drew significant attention. The information concerning the visit was published in the Belarusian news and the local portals.
