Post-Peer Review Visit of the SAI of Indonesia

Auditors from the SAI of Indonesia presented the peer reviewers with the list of recommendations that have already been implemented successfully. They also developed the schedule of further activities and discussed them at the working meeting in Warsaw.

NIK carried out a peer review exercise at the equivalent institution of Indonesia in order to help it operate better. NIK auditors, as requested by the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia, examined how the Indonesian SAI was managed, whether its audits were effective, and how international standards of auditing were implemented there. President of NIK Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, during his visit to Indonesia last year, presented the Indonesian SAI with the final report. The report comprises a series of recommendations that should contribute to greater effectiveness of the institution.

NIK itself has also took advantage of peer reviews several times. The latest peer review exercise was conducted in 2012 by an international team of auditors from Austria, Denmark, Lithuania and the Netherlands. The whole audit process was examined then, including audit planning, audit proceedings and post-audit activities, as well as reporting on audit results.
