NIK employees were decorated for their outstanding merits in the state audit, strengthening of the rule of law and conscientious discharge of their duties. President Bronisław Komorowski awarded the medal to each of the distinguished persons.

During the ceremony, also attended by the families of the decorated individuals, the President addressed his words of recognition to all NIK employees for their difficult service, requiring great responsibility. The President underscored NIK’s critical role in Poland. ”As long as our country exists, the state audit will be indispensible” - he said.
President of NIK Krzysztof Kwiatkowski thanked for distinguishing NIK employees. He also addressed them by saying: ”This is a reflection of your hard work and an often uneasy service. I do appreciate your professionalism and commitment that I observe on everyday basis.”
NIK President also mentioned that NIK enjoys great confidence of citizens. Its prestige in the international arena is increasing systematically. Polish auditors are just finishing their first year of audit in CERN. NIK is also getting prepared for the financial audit of the Council of Europe. Recently the Polish auditors have signed a cooperation agreement with the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine which provides for a training offer for our Eastern neighbours.
The medal awarding ceremony was related to the 95th jubilee of NIK. It was held in the Belvedere Palace, a historic site where 95 years ago Marshall Józef Piłsudski signed documents establishing the Supreme Audit Office.
