NIK has pointed out in its report that it is essential to assign a Minister (e.g. of the Interior) to play the leading role in coordinating and enforcing road safety measures, to adopt the long-term programme for financing initiatives in that area, to make the Road Transport Inspectorate part of the Police, to take mobile speed cameras away from municipal guards, to change the law and above all continue investments in road and motorway construction as well as to modernise the existing road infrastructure.
